Angella Kyomugisha

Villagetocollege Inaugural Scholar

Angella Kyomugisha stands as the inaugural beneficiary of Villagetocollege, and a shining example of the transformational impact that access to education can create in underserved communities.

Her Journey with Villagetocollege

Villagetocollege discovered Angella during her sophomore year of high school, recognizing her exceptional potential and determination. After graduating high school and with the organization’s support, Angella completed a two‑year program at a Vocational Institute, where she strengthened her academic and practical foundation.

Her achievements opened the door to Kyambogo University in Kampala, one of Uganda’s most respected institutions. Angella is now approaching the completion of her Undergraduate degree in Social Work, a field that aligns deeply with her passion for supporting vulnerable families and communities.

Professional Growth

In 2025, Angella earned a competitive internship at Butabika National Referral Mental Hospital, Uganda’s leading psychiatric and mental health institution. This role has given her hands‑on experience in:

  • Community mental health support
  • Case management
  • Patient counseling
  • Social work practice in a clinical setting

Her time at Butabika has further solidified her commitment to helping individuals facing mental health challenges.

Leadership & Service

Outside the classroom, Angella is an active leader in her church. She serves as the Head of the Young Women’s Council, where she:

  • Coordinates programs for youth and single mothers
  • Provides psychological and spiritual support
  • Mentors young women within her community
  • Leads outreach initiatives focused on empowerment and well‑being

Her leadership reflects her deep compassion and her desire to uplift others.

A Living Testament to Impact

Angella’s journey—from a promising high school student to a nearly graduating social worker and community leader—embodies the vision of Villagetocollege. Her story highlights what becomes possible when opportunity, mentorship, and determination come together. She continues to inspire her peers, her community, and the mission of Villagetocollege.

Christine Asinde

Christine Asinde has generously committed to serve another three‑year term as the Ugandan Board Member for Villagetocollege, demonstrating her deep belief in and continued dedication to the mission of our organization.

Christine joined Villagetocollege in 2022 while serving at the 1,000‑student Boston High School in Entebbe, where she held the position of Deputy Headteacher in charge of Academic Affairs. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in strengthening the school’s academic systems, including establishing instructional materials and structures that enhanced both teaching quality and student performance.

Her expertise extends beyond the school environment. Christine previously served with the Uganda National Examination Board, (UNEB), the national body responsible for setting academic standards, grading criteria, and certification guidelines across the country.

Her involvement with UNEB underscores her strong grounding in educational governance and assessment.

In early 2026, Christine took on a new leadership opportunity as a Senior Administrator in the Human Resources Department at the newly established Karamoja Peace and Technology University in Kotido, Uganda. Her work there contributes to building institutional capacity in one of the country’s emerging higher‑education institutions.

Christine’s professional experience, governance insight, and passion for educational equity continue to strengthen Villagetocollege strategic direction and impact.
